Khour Musa is located at the northwestern extremity of the Persian Gulf sedimentary basin and constitutes the largest and longest marine inlet extending inland along Iran’s coastline. The area encompasses a complex combination of marine, transitional, and, in some locations, terrestrial environments. Sedimentation within the region is governed by a combination of fluvial, aeolian, tidal, and biological processes.

The project area is situated at the northwestern head of the Persian Gulf along the southern coast of Khuzestan Province, bounded by the Arvand River Delta to the west, the Zohreh River to the east, and Imam Khomeini Port to the north.

The Khour Musa dredging project was undertaken to establish a safe navigational channel approximately 14 nautical miles (approximately 26 km) in length, with a design width of 300 m and a navigational depth of 13.5 m referenced to Chart Datum. The channel was designed to accommodate vessels with a capacity of [to be specified].

In 2020 (1399), technical and site supervision of the dredging operations was assigned to our engineering consultancy. The supervision scope covered technical oversight and field supervision of the dredging works, ensuring that construction activities were executed in accordance with the approved design requirements, technical specifications, and applicable project standards.
